Biochemistry

Biochemistry
Biochemistry is the study of the chemistry of life from the processes that enable bacteria to live in the depths of the ocean to the molecular processes that underpin how organisms age. It develops this understanding of the molecules of life using a variety of techniques including physical techniques such as X-Ray crystallography and microscopy alongside molecular and genetic techniques including CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing. The subject in itself is not taught directly in schools though aspects do appear in some chemistry and biology specifications.
The UNIQ Biochemistry course will consist of lectures, practical's and a tutorial on a diverse range of topics, giving you insight into what it is like to be a biochemistry undergraduate. You will also be encouraged to develop your ability to work independently and to direct your own study, both of which are key aspects of student life.
