Materials Science

Course description

Discover the world of Materials Science, a growing interdisciplinary subject which is arguably shaping our future. Building and enriching your scientific knowledge, this course spans the physics and chemistry of matter, engineering applications, and industrial manufacturing processes.

You will attend lectures on captivating (and advancing) topics such as batteries for clean energy generation and storage, nanomaterials, superconductors, and quantum materials.

You will work both independently and as a team in a supportive environment, carrying out practical experiments in our Undergraduate Labs and working on group research projects. This is an excellent introduction to a fascinating subject and an insight into the life of an Oxford Materials Science student.
